Youth Development and voluntary Work Association programs and activities

 

1.Youth and children exchange program:

 A.   An annual International youth summer camp. The aim of these summer camp is to enable the youth from exchanging their experiences, hobbies, innovations and cultures. It will strengthen the relation between the Palestinian Youth and the International youth and open their minds to others from other countries.  

B. YDVWA participated in a Children camp at Athens, it will start at 19th of July till 10th of August 2006, with participation of 28 under poverty line and traumatized children.

C. In the 8th of September 2006 a group consist of 7 members and volunteers of Youth Development and Voluntary Work Association started their trip to attend the second edition of the international conference “Europe and beyond: heart and mind humanity of humanity.” which was held in Senigallia  The conference took place from the 10th till the 15th of September 2006.

 

D. In the 19, two of YDVWA active members arrived to Marcella 25 February 2007 to attend « Sociétés en crise ou crise des civilisations » seminar organized by ADCEI.

 

E. YDVWA participated in SHOROUK "Euro Mediterranean Partnership-Building to strengthen Solidarity and Participation" which organized by ICYE European Association in co-operation with AFSAI. The training will take place in the surroundings of Rome from October 24th to 28th in Rome/Italy The aim of the activity is to gather organizations from EU and MEDA countries to get to know each other, to exchange best practices, to discuss specificities of their regions and of implementing international volunteering activities there, to find partners for international volunteering and exchange activities, mainly to be implemented in the frame of the YIA program, and to give support in making the envisaged projects feasible and concrete. One of the expected outcomes is the development of a Euro Mediterranean multilateral EVS project.

 

  2.Women Empowerment functionally and psychologically program.

A.   Improving women skills through holding training courses such as sewing, painting…etc. 

B.   Marketing women handcrafts locally and internationally. you can find some of our products by clicking the following link products

 C.   Holding workshops on women political empowerment at previous March we targeted women at refugees camps and remote areas.

      3.Youth empowerment:

 A.   We held several courses, lectures and workshops regarding the most critical issues that concern our youth such as: violence and peaceful struggle, elections and voters rights and duties, international youth challenges, handicapped rights and struggles. During these courses we targeted universities students, camps, remote areas and villages' youth.

B.   Developing unemployed youth capabilities by acquiring them new skills to enable them of improving their financial situation.

 We also held several activities with the help of our volunteers such as planting olive trees close to the Apartheid wall as a protest against the wall and its existence, helping farmers at olive harvest, securing medication, food and cloth for families in real need especially during the previous 5 month.

4. Social Activities:

A. Distribution of Medicine to Clinics at Most needy Areas: in Cooperation with Several International organization, YDVWA could transfer first aid and medicine to clinics located at marginalized areas believing that Voluntary organizations should play relief role when necessary.

B. At Global youth Service day, YDVWA planted 250 olive tree, with the participation of more than 200 volunteer, the director of the association shared our volunteer in planting olive trees in a land close to the Apartheid Wall as an act of protesting against building the wall.

Distribution of Ramadan Food Packages: In cooperation with the Islamic Relief, YDVWA and its Volunteers Distributed 1156 Food packages to most needy families at Ramallal, Al-Berih and Salfet Districts and Villages.
